Eco friendly events
According to the Climate Care Group the average wedding emits 14.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide. That's an enormous amount, bearing in mind that the average adult only emits 11 tonnes in a whole year.
It's a scary figure, but when you start taking into account car journey times, all the confetti that's being scattered around, invitations, place settings, etc, it's hardly surpising that our carbon footprint is getting a little on the large size.
We take the environment seriously at Alrewas Hayes, in fact a large proportion of our 267 acres is populated with Miscanthus, or Elephant Grass. Elephant Grass is a carbon-neutral fuel, because, although it releases carbon dioxide as it burns, it also absorbs carbon dioxide as it grows.
But we don't stop there. We aim to deliver the most eco-friendly events possible by offering all manner of biodegradable items, from confetti to invitations. Or maybe you could arrive in style with horse and cart, rather than clogging up the atmosphere with car exhaust fumes.
Even our food and flowers are sourced locally to cut down on delivery mileage.
We don't want to spoil your event. But between us we'll create something spectacular that benefits everyone, including the environment.
